When the bleeding moon falls to the Earth,
I’ll dance with you on a comet’s tail.
And the stars will give us their silent applause
as the rain drowns all else in a mighty gale.
And with the lightning bright upon each hill
I’ll run with you through the blackened mist.
The flowers will bow before our rush;
untouched and wild, tameless bliss.
When the seas run high and the valleys flood
with the tears unnumbered of a thousand years,
I’ll swim the distance to reach your shores
as the waves slowly crush our fading fears.
And when the heavens burst open with trumpets of gold
ringing their fanfare the whole world over,
I’ll await you by the gates to a new beginning
and offer there once more my tender shoulder.
