 visual work 2017

Fifteen - Kirby Kern

This is a self-portrait – pencil on paper. This work was done in a style similar to a style used by the famous artist Chuck Close. The paper is gridded and every square is filled with at least two colors. This creates a distorted style.

Northside Yards - Stephen Koos

Like everyone else, I get a little aggravated when a train holds me up. I wanted to capture the beauty in something a lot of people in the Terre Haute area view as an annoyance. Growing up in Terre Haute, trains have become a part of everyday life. This yard is about a half a mile from my house; and every so often at night, I hear the hum of whistles sounding and railroad cars rumbling. Peaceful sounds I will always remember.
