Honey, the glaciers are melting

Honey, the glaciers are melting,

so let’s lay down,

spread our bodies over the ice

I’ve been told that’s how you stop yourself from sinking.

Winter has it’s claws in us, and by that I mean the ice, and by that I mean the dark,

the temptation to freeze is immeasurable even in decibels, but

what are we to do if not stoke the fireplace

if not bare my teeth and bite your neck because my allegiance lies with the polar bears

People say animalistic like it’s a bad thing but in all the time we’ve both been alive, only one of us

has invented shooting

off our mouths at women in the street and believe me,

it is not the sparrows.
