The human experience is malleable, I suppose.

Sometimes your senses and your memory lie to you.

And sometimes you listen to it, just to get the sense that someone is really out there,

somewhere.

And it can make you feel crazy.

Sometimes the moon feels like it’s right in front of you.

Like at any moment the craters on its surface will open up,

revealing a billion eyes looming over you.

Like a lullaby for an insomniac.

And time starts walking backwards.

Sometimes when all the stars flicker out in the night,

and the woodland creatures silence,

and the forest trees stop shivering,

you understand loneliness in a way you haven’t before.

And the angels and devils of this earth see fit to swallow you whole.

And sometimes you really are just crazy.
